Marne Properties
Pty Ltd ("Marne"), founded in 1990, specialises in developing
and managing residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout
inner Melbourne. The history of Marne, however, dates back to 1969
when one of our founding directors undertook the development of
an industrial property in the Melbourne suburb of Maidstone.
Marne is a large,
privately-owned company. The directors of Marne are collectively
responsible for developing in excess of one thousand properties
with a present day value of more than $500 million in areas such
as Port Melbourne, Melbourne CBD, Hawthorn, Malvern, St Kilda, Elwood,
Armadale, South Yarra, Collingwood, Ivanhoe and Middle Park
Peter Gyopar
is one of the founding directors of Marne. Peter has in excess of
35 years experience in property development. Peter is the managing
director of Marne.
Guy Jalland
is a founding director of Marne and holds a Bachelor of Laws from
the University of Melbourne and is a senior executive with Consolidated
Press Holdings Limited.
Andrew Gyopar,
a director of Marne, holds a Master of Business (Property), Master
of Project Management and a Graduate Diploma in Facilities Management.
Andrew is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the commercial
asset portfolio as well as project design and development, marketing,
consultant co-ordination and project delivery for Marne.
One of Marne's
projects, completed in 2001, comprise 155 residential apartments
in Collins St Melbourne. It was awarded the "2002 Excellence
in Construction Award for Existing Building ($10 million to $50
million category)" by the Master Builders Association of Victoria.
Marne's most
recently completed project is in the thriving inner bayside suburb
of Port Melbourne. The project consists of 171 residential apartments
with a completed value in excess of $70 million. Purchasers of apartments
within this development successfully tenanted their apartments within
a few weeks of offering them to the rental market.
Marne's success
is attributed to its market knowledge, being able to select properties
to purchase for development which appreciate in value ahead of general
market trend. Most of the properties developed by Marne were offered
to Marne in "off market" transactions due to Marne's reputation
amongst property promoters and real estate agents as a consistent
purchaser of quality real estate stock.
Marne's philosophy of offering carefully selected and professionally
completed properties to investors and owner occupiers resulted in
Marne having a substantial following from repeat buyers.
Marne has secured
a number of properties for future development. These projects will
have a market capitalisation of approximately $200 million.
